Protection of Reverse Osmosis systems
Reverse Osmosis (RO) systems are broadly used in many industries to improve water quality.
They are used for the desalination of sea water as well as for purification of water used in many industries such as food, pharmaceutical and purification of waste water to name a few.
It is important that this plants work as efficiently as possible in order to optimize water and energy consumpion. One problem is the deterioration of the membrane and therefore it is important to install an adequate prefiltration system prior to the RO plant.
Our client is a company specialized in desalination plants based on high pressure Reverse Osmosis (RO) systems.
Due to the higher pressure of the system traditional RO pre-filters can’t be used.
That is why we have provided our prime-phin as a protecton filter. The bag filter housing is able to work on an operating pressure up to 16 bar. Due to the wide range of available filtration degrees of the bags the filter is able to adapt to the filtration requirement of the RO system.
The bag filter provides:
- Protection for the RO membranes
- Increase system efficiency
- Increase the systems time between overhauls
