Particles and magnetite in heating systems
It is well-known that the content of particles and rust in piping heating systems increases over time. But, what is the root cause of the issue? Oxygen leaks into the system and reacts with the pipes creating rust which, when mixed with process water, creates what is called heating sludge or magnetite. The older the pipes, the more likely it is that there will be higher quantities of sludge and particles in the system.
Magnetite can cause several problems such as:
- Damage to pumps, valves and boilers
- Reduction of heating efficiency
- Blockage of pipes
Our bag filter housing removes both magnetic- and non-magnetic impurities from the piping system and heating elements, increasing the heat transfer efficiency, reducing operation and maintenance costs, and improving the overall operation of the different system elements.
This solution can be applied independently of the heating source, and can be combined with other maintenance techniques.
