Protection of radon separator
Hjoggböleforsen’s economic water supply association received a demand from the municipality of Skellefteå to lower the radon content in its water.
When installing the radon separator, it was discovered that some sand and gravel came up together with water and settled to the bottom of the radon separator. To avoid clogging, it was decided to install prime-phin as a pre-filter to separate the sand particles.
After some operating time, the radon separator was opened and no sand nor otheer particles was observed.
The installation extends the life of the entire plant and reduces the need for maintenance.
